An Appeal for Donations to Support the Work of WZO

Dear Supporters and Well-Wishers,

The last 18 months have been very difficult for all due to the effects of the Covid-19 Global Pandemic which has impacted the lives of us all in some way.

During this period, the World Zoroastrian Organisation has continued to support and address the needs of our Zoroastrian community globally.

Whilst the pandemic and the associated restrictions have prevented us from using our World Zoroastrian House building in the UK to its full potential, our WZO resident priest Ervad Fali Madon has continued to hold weekly online Boi ceremonies every Sunday afternoon, performed in our peaceful Setayash Gah and viewable online. The weekly ceremony is watched all over the world and brings our community together during this difficult time.

In 2020 we were also able to hold our first Muktad prayers at the premises. We hope that for this year’s 2021 prayers, we will be able to welcome back our supporters to attend. The prayer services can be availed by any Zoroastrian around the world wishing to pray for and remember their near and dear departed during this year’s Shahenshahi Muktaad / Farvardegaan days. Any non-Zoroastrian spouses who wish their husbands/wife’s name recited are welcome to do so.

Sadly we have been unable to utilise our premises during this pandemic. The events which would have been held at the centre would have raised much-needed funds to cover the ongoing running and maintenance costs of these new premises as well as sustain the cost of our resident priest and raise funds to support the good work of WZO.

As you can imagine, this lack of ability to raise funds is putting pressure on our finances at a time of huge demand. Covid-19 has impacted our on-going fund raising and donation levels have also declined during a time of great need.

In light of these financial pressures, we are approaching our supporters to ask you to donate to help WZO either on an ongoing or one-off basis.

We appreciate that this may be a difficult and uncertain time for some individuals and families, however, we would ask that you consider donating whatever you are able to help us continue with our work within the Zoroastrian community during this extraordinary period.

You can donate to our General Fund by visiting our website at https://www.w-z-o.org/donate/.  Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours sincerely,
Rumi Sethna,

Chair, WZO
