The World Zoroastrian Organisation
Globally supporting Zoroastrianism, its people and traditions.
Headquarters & UK
WZO has its HQ in London and the UK based committee meets once a month. The UK is home to about 4500 Zoroastrians of which about 80% are Parsees, the remainder being Iranians. WZO members tend also to be members of the Zoroastrian Centre on the outskirts of London where religious ceremonies take place. WZO organises an annual seminar in London and occasionally regional seminars

New Zealand
NZ is the home of around 1500 Zoroastrians, most of whom have settled in New Zealand over the last 25 years. The majority of the community live in Auckland. The local Zoroastrian organisation (ZANZ) gathers the community for events such as Nowruz or Papeti. The 15 or so practising Dastoors get involved when required in religious ceremonies such as Navjotes, Marriages and Death. ZANZ also conducts regular prayer classes for kids, and a monthly social function for senior citizens. The community is growing and prospering constantly as they settle down into this land of Milk and Honey.

India
India, home to the largest though dwindling Zoroastrian population in the world (c. 65,000), known as Parsees. WZO is famed in India for its charitable activities channelled through WZO Trust, managed by Dinshaw & Bachi Tamboly. There is a wide spectrum of Zoroastrian opinion in India on matters of religious importance and the debates are often passionate. Though their numbers constitute a minute percentage of the overall population of India, their influence in spheres such as law, politics, business, sport & entertainment is significant.

Singapore
Singapore has a small but active Zoroastrian population of about 80 households. Gatherings tend to take place in private homes, but for annual festival celebrations, a central venue is chosen. Religious events such as navjote or wedding or death rituals are conducted by the senior members of the community unless a visiting priest is on hand.

Pakistan
Today Pakistan has only a total of 1660 Zarathushtis who live mainly in Karachi, from which 76 individuals live in Lahore, Pindi & Islamabad, Quetta and Multan. Though few in numbers, a very cohesive and respected community. In Karachi, regular monthly entertainment is arranged by the KZBM with KPI, YMZA & PPCA all coming forward with various competitions or amusement during the year. These associations have been the source of maintaining the close friendship that exists among Karachiites. Agiaris are in Karachi, Lahore and Quetta.

Canada
Canada has seen an increase in the number of Zoroastrians resident, now standing at approximately 10,000 with numbers recently reaching a balance between Parsees and those of Iranian origin. They mostly live in Vancouver and Toronto where there are centres of worship for gatherings. WZO Canada has recently been established here and we hope to organise educational and social events to maintain our customs.
